Sin Nombre

Amidst the confusion of leaving everything behind me
There was a moment of clarity
Before I knew it I was down on my hands and knees
Praying for what I needed most
The closeness I craved ate at my very interior
Like the hunger of a starving child
Walking alone in the forest many years later I came across a clearing
The grass was soft and I lay there for a while to think about things
I slumbered and dreamt of the abundant earth I called home
I awoke to the sound of a finch and walked away from it all.
