Imagine

A surreal composite image showing two overlapping classical marble male busts—one gazing upward, the other bowed downward—set against a vivid blue and orange stained-glass–style floral background, blending sculpture, transparency, and ornamental pattern.

This artwork reflects my ongoing practice at the intersection of scientific communication, contemporary illustration, and conceptual art, where complex ideas are translated into visually legible and emotionally resonant forms. Drawing on my experience creating illustrations for physics, quantum research, and emerging technologies, the composition uses layered classical marble busts to suggest multiple states of cognition—analysis and intuition, inward reflection and outward inquiry. The transparent overlap echoes the logic of scientific infographics and schematics, where information is stacked, aligned, and revealed through spatial relationships rather than linear narration.

The spatial composition is strongly informed by John O’Reilly’s collage practice, particularly his ability to construct meaning through depth, overlap, and architectural arrangement. Figures are treated as structural elements within a larger visual system rather than isolated subjects. In contrast, the vivid ultramarine blues and radiant oranges draw inspiration from Sneha Shrestha’s use of color as cultural, symbolic, and energetic force. Here, the stained-glass–like floral field operates simultaneously as ornament, signal, and data environment—bridging art, diagram, and decorative system.
