Who's in Control?

Through the performed act of manual labor, hands working with wire, and the tightly cropped view of the eyes from outside inwards, we ask the question: who’s in control? The industrial landscape of the factory is the exterior surrounding in which the worker toils away. The interior space of the mind of the worker grows ever more tense, culminating in a breaking point between classes divided.

It is this tension between the inner mind and outer hand of industry that we hope to build as the lens for inquiry. As man and machine operate together, and some reap the rewards of this mechanical production, we continue to ask: who’s in control? The hand becomes both the maker and the manipulator—at once weaving the fabric of society and testing whether control lies within its grasp or slips beyond it.
